Opened in October 2007, Sprint Center is Kansas City's new home for sports, concerts, family shows, collegiate competitions and special events. Anchor to more than $4.5 billion of reinvestment in a revitalized downtown Kansas City, Sprint Center is a unique public/private partnership between the City of Kansas City and AEG. Sprint Center will host more than 100 public events throughout the year – and feature smaller rooms for private meetings and civic events. Located on 8.5 acres, nearly one million guests are expected to visit Sprint Center in its inaugural year.

Built of 2,204 unique panes of glass, designers intentionally made Sprint Center transparent to allow views into and out of the facility. The clear patterned glass material catches and reflects light both day and night. Home to the College Basketball Experience, Sprint Center is host of the 2008 Big 12 Men's Basketball Championships and the first- and second- rounds of the 2009 NCAA Men's Basketball Championships and 2010 NCAA Women's Basketball Regionals.

Sprint Center welcomed more than 400,000 guests at 32 events in its first 60 days of operation. Sprint Center guests will experience a variety of diverse acts in the first year including Elton John, Rascal Flatts, Van Halen, Billy Joel, Chris Brown, Reba McIntyre, Kelly Clarkson, Kid Rock, Bon Jovi, Celine Dion, and nine record breaking sold out shows by Garth Brooks witnessed by more than 164,000 guests.
