LA Galaxy Host Read Across America Day at StubHub Center

LA Galaxy and LA Chargers players, alongside ATP World Tour Professionals, Tennis Hall of Famer Pam Shriver and StubHub Center staff, read Dr. Seuss classics to more than 400 Los Angeles second and third graders in advance of season opener on March 4

Yesterday, AEG's LA Galaxy, alongside LA Chargers, StubHub Center and First Break Academy, hosted Read Across America Day at StubHub Center, as players and staff read to more than 400 second and third grade students from 186th Street Elementary School and Leapwood Elementary School in celebration of Read Across America Day, a nation-wide celebration of children’s author Dr. Seuss. Following the event, each student received a book courtesy of MLS WORKS.

Among those who read Dr. Seuss books to numerous classes from the local Los Angeles elementary schools included: LA Galaxy players Jelle Van Damme, Brian Rowe, Baggio Husidic, Jack McBean, Dave Romney and Jose Villarreal, in addition to Chargers center Max Tuerk, safety Dwight Lowery, linebacker Kyle Emanuel, linebacker Denzel Perryman, ATP World Tour Professionals’ Sam Groth, Bradley Klahn and Women’s Tennis Association legend and ESPN broadcaster Pam Shriver, as well as staff from the LA Galaxy, StubHub Center and First Break Academy.

LA Galaxy’s Read Across America Day took place two days prior to the LA Galaxy’s 2017 MLS opening match. The LA Galaxy will kick off the 2017 MLS Season on Saturday, March 4 at StubHub Center when they host FC Dallas at 1 p.m. PT live on Univision.
