New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival
Since its inception in 1970, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival has continued to showcase the most storied names in music history alongside Louisiana’s finest artists. A true heritage festival, Jazz Fest is best described as an all-day block party that expands to take over the entire landscape of one of the cornerstone cities of American music, food, and culture. The festival stands alone in presenting the highest caliber musical artists alongside a culinary experience that is second to none. Jazz Fest prides itself on showcasing performances in such varied musical genres as rock, pop, R&B, gospel, blues, traditional and contemporary jazz, Cajun, zydeco, and more. The festival is as renowned for its curated experiences like the Gospel Tent, Jazz & Heritage Stage, and Economy Hall Tent as it is for its main stage headliners.
Jazz Fest commemorated its 50th anniversary in 2019, drawing almost 500,000 people to the eight-day celebration of the unique culture and heritage of New Orleans and Louisiana. Over 650 artists performed on 14 stages including music legends such as Katy Perry, Santana, Dave Matthews Band, Jimmy Buffett, Chris Stapleton, Van Morrison, Herbie Hancock, Ciara, and Pitbull, along with New Orleans’ favorite artists Trombone Shorty, Aaron Neville, Galactic, Irma Thomas, and hundreds more.
