Sensory bags, equipped with noise canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, and weighted lap pads, will be available to all guests at Arena Arena Partners With KultureCity to Bring Sensory Inclusivity to the Arena

AEG’s Arena has partnered with KultureCity to ensure that every program and event hosted at the venue is sensory inclusive for all fans and guests. The new initiative will help create an accepting and inclusive environment and promote daily accessibility for those with sensory sensitivities.

As a recipient of KultureCity’s Sensory Inclusive™ certification, staff at Arena will undergo annual training led by top medical professionals that will help them identify guests with sensory needs and how to correctly deescalate a sensory overload situation. Additionally, sensory bags, equipped with noise canceling headphones, fidget tools, verbal cue cards, and weighted lap pads, will be available to all guests at Arena who may feel overwhelmed by the environment.

Sensory sensitivities or challenges with sensory regulation are often experienced by individuals with autism, dementia, PTSD and other similar conditions (1 in 6 individuals). One of the major barriers for these individuals is sensitivity to overstimulation and noise, which is an enormous part of the environment in a venue such as Arena. With its new certification, the arena is now better prepared to assist guests with sensory sensitivities in having the most comfortable and accommodating experience possible when attending any event.

Prior to attending an event at the arena, families can download the free KultureCity App where one can view what sensory features are available and where they can access such features. Also, the App features the Social Story, which will provide a preview of what to expect while enjoying an event at Arena.
