Florida Theatre Names AXS Its Official Ticketing Partner

The Florida Theatre is proud to announce an exclusive ticketing agreement with AXS, a trusted leader in advanced ticketing and live event technology for independent venues across the U.S.

AXS will power ticketing operations at the Florida Theatre, providing guests with a seamless and secure ticket-buying experience through its industry-leading platform, including AXS Mobile ID technology.

“AXS is the right ticketing partner for the Florida Theatre because it provides our patrons and members with a modern, secure, and convenient ticket-buying experience while giving us the tools to better serve our community. The platform makes it easier for patrons to purchase, access, and manage their tickets, while providing our members with a seamless experience from purchase through show day. Just as importantly, AXS gives the Florida Theatre the technology and flexibility to operate more efficiently and communicate more effectively with our audience. Our goal is always to make attending a performance at the Florida Theatre as easy and enjoyable as possible, and our partnership with AXS is an important part of delivering on that promise,” said Kevin Stone, Interim President/VP of Programming at the Florida Theatre.

AXS will provide Florida Theatre with its full suite of ticketing and mobile ticketing solutions, including mobile ticket management, data and analytics tools, integrated marketing capabilities, premium seating support, and access to AXS’s expanded distribution network and live event technology.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the Florida Theatre to AXS and partner with a venue that has played such an important role in Jacksonville’s cultural community for nearly a century,” said Ali McCloud, Vice President of Business Development at AXS. “Our focus is on providing the Florida Theatre with flexible technology and tools that support its team while delivering an optimal experience for fans. We look forward to supporting the Theatre as it approaches its centennial and begins this next chapter.”

The historic Florida Theatre in downtown Jacksonville, FL, was built in 1927, seats 1,865 people, and hosts over 200 events a year. In 2025, Pollstar Magazine ranked the Florida Theatre as the #5 most-attended theatre worldwide for theatres up to 2,000 seats, and LHAT (League of Historic American Theatres) named the Florida Theatre the 2025 Outstanding Historic Theatre. The Florida Theatre will celebrate its 100th anniversary next year.

Originally opened in 1927 to accommodate live performances and motion pictures, the Florida Theatre has undergone numerous transformations over the years (including the 1983 reopening, 2022 new member lounge, and 2023 $8 million renovation, just to name a few). The Florida Theatre has seen history unfold: from the Great Depression two years after opening, to Elvis performing here in 1956, to segregation/integration in the late 1960s, to surviving the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. Today, the only historic theatre left on Forsyth Street (where Jay the resident ghost lives), the Florida Theatre stands as a premier performing arts center, hosting a diverse array of events including concerts, shows, comedy acts, and community events. The Florida Theatre’s rich history and stunning Mediterranean Revival architecture make it a beloved landmark and a focal point of Jacksonville's cultural scene.
