Zero Mile is one of the most successful independent promoters in the South and currently books and operates the renowned venues Variety Playhouse and Terminal West in Atlanta, as well as the historic Georgia Theatre in Athens. Zero Mile also promotes shows throughout the Atlanta market and Southeast.
It was also announced that AEG Presents and Zero Mile will soon break ground on a new 2,200 capacity venue named The Eastern, located in the Reynoldstown neighborhood of Atlanta. The Eastern, set to be the anchor tenant of the Atlanta Dairies project, located adjacent to the Atlanta Beltline, a sustainable redevelopment project connecting 45 intown neighborhoods via a 22-mile loop of multi-use trails, modern streetcar, and parks. The Eastern will bring a much needed state-of-the-art venue experience to Atlanta’s booming cultural center.
Zero Mile’s co-founder, Scott Orvold, along with Allen Corbett of AEG Presents–Carolinas, will oversee the booking and growth of this new partnership. They will lead a team of experienced promoters working under the Zero Mile banner to grow events throughout Georgia, Alabama, and the Carolinas. This team will include AEG Presents’ Chris McLane, The Bowery Presents’ Patrick Hill and Zero Mile’s Alan Sher, Walker Beard, and Trent Allison.
Scott Orvold stated, “As Zero Mile continued to grow, it became clear that adding a partner with extensive experience and reputability would be beneficial. Our relationship with AEG was getting strong enough to make it obvious that we should join forces and tackle this region together. It has been really fun working alongside industry leaders such as Rick Mueller, Shawn Trell and Colin Conway to name a few. Our main focus has always been creating the best possible environment for the artist and fan alike. Together we look forward to continuing that vision while accomplishing some lofty goals that we have set for ourselves.”
Rick Mueller, President of AEG Presents North America, echoes Orvold's sentiment. “Scott and the team at Zero Mile share AEG’s passion for finding great concert venues and producing amazing events for music fans. We are excited to break ground with them on a great new venue that is long overdue in Atlanta. Scott has already done an amazing job as an independent promoter to open three of Georgia’s best venues and to build a successful concert business in a very competitive market. He is a throwback to the great independent promoters like Bill Graham and Alex Cooley, and I can’t wait to get to work with him on building this new partnership”
