LA Kings Hosted Nonpartisan Voter Registration Drive at Crypto.com Arena
To encourage voter registration ahead of the national general election in November, AEG’s LA Kings hosted a voter registration drive at Crypto.com Arena on October 13, 2022. The event was held in conjunction with the National Hockey League (NHL) and Headcount’s “Good to Vote” initiative aimed at encouraging hockey fans nationwide to get out to vote this fall.
During the LA Kings home game against the Seattle Kraken, hockey fans could register to vote or check their registration status at a voting booth located on the Main Concourse of Crypto.com Arena. The collaboration between the NHL and HeadCount provides a unique way to reach a new audience and help get them to the polls for the upcoming midterm elections.
“The LA Kings are proud to support the NHL and Headcount’s ‘Good to Vote’ platform,” shared Gabe Gelbard, Supervisor, Community Relations and Team Services, LA Kings. “This is a great opportunity to encourage civic engagement and participation from hockey fans and further strengthens our commitment towards building an engaged hockey community.”
HeadCount is a nonpartisan, nonprofit voter registration organization that harnesses the power of music, culture, and digital media to encourage people to participate in democracy. HeadCount first joined forces with the NHL earlier this year at the NHL Fan Fair™ and NHL All-Star® in Las Vegas to give attendees a convenient way to register to vote. The collaboration presents a unique opportunity to reach a new audience and help get them to the polls for the upcoming election.
